STILL was a digital painting I made specifically as part of an installation at Riposte Pride in July 2022. It’s a transition allegory – the tree growing through the stone hands which break in trying to restrict it. Now the entire structure is floating at rest, but there is still growth, and green leaves forming around an object of hope at the top of the tree.

It was printed with colours that would react to UV and near-UV light well, and was placed in a setting with bluetooth-controlled lamp which slowly cycled through a range of colours, creating an interesting and absorbing effect, as if the entire image was breathing.
